You will absolutely NOT believe this!

Yes!! Another 'believer moment' ~ such an embarrassment of riches! Thank you Lord!! I just went out to finish my 'chopping-the-ice-off-the front-walk' project. Sigh. As I was getting started, one of the young men who is working on the rebuilding/remodeling the house two doors down from me came out & asked if I wanted some help. (What do you think I said?! heh) As he was chipping & chopping & scooping & flipping the ice he noticed the sign I have on my deck. Joshua 24:15d ~ "...but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." His comment was "I really like your sign, that is what we do at my house, we serve the Lord." We smiled knowing smiles at each other, while I tried not to slip on the ice from surprise. That makes four times since December 15th, see here, here and here!

Hardening of the "Hearteries"?

I'm not quite sure where this thought is headed, but I found it very interesting that in Ex. 7:3 we read that the LORD said to Moses "...And I will harden Pharaoh's heart" and then Scripture tells us that "Pharaoh's heart grew hard" (vs. 13) and again "Pharaoh's heart grew hard" (vs.22) and again "Pharaoh's heart grew hard, and he did not heed them, just as the LORD had said." And Ch. 8:32 ends with these words, "But Pharaoh hardened his heart at this time also; neither would he let the people go."

And then, in Matt. 19:8, Jesus answering the Pharisees question on divorce "He said to them, ' Moses, because of the hardness of your hearts, permitted you to divorce your wives, but from the beginning it was not so.' ".

Both Scriptures have Moses as the main person dealing with the hardening and hardness of the human heart and I feel that Moses would be in the same position today with us, since the human heart (soul), in it's need for Christ, has not changed one little bit from the time of Pharaoh and the Pharisees. Or will ever change other than by the Grace of God, through the power of the Holy Spirit, in the Name of Jesus. Eph. 2:8

You won't believe this!!!!

I needed to get my PC upgraded (all those photos & videos need giga-amounts of speed & memory!!). The gentleman came to pick it up Monday PM, took it off & upgraded it. When he returned this AM with my newly upgraded computer, he commented that I had a lot Scripture in my Works files. You got it!! Another believer!! He was raised as a Catholic, he married a gal from the Holiness background & they now attend a Mennonite church just outside of the town in which I live!! Did we have a great conversation or what!!?? How sweet is the Lord for bringing these "believer moments" into my life from time to time! Such a blessing!!
from Psalm 103:4b~~
"Who crowns you with lovingkindness & tender mercies"!!!

I love gas stations...er, convenience store gas pumps!!

Pulled in this AM for a fill up & there on the other side of the pump was a white car with a decal which said "It's OK to say Merry Christmas!" So I peeked around the pump & there was a guy filling up. I said "Merry Christmas!!" He just laughed out loud & gave me a thumbs up. He said "I guess it is a bit early", or a bit late I replied. Then we decided it was good all year round!!!!! Why do I love gas stations?? Because... So, gotta get gas more often!! heh

& 3 for 3

Genesis 45:3-8 (NKJV)
3 Then Joseph said to his brothers, "I am Joseph; does my father still live?" But his brothers could not answer him, for they were dismayed in his presence.
4 And Joseph said to his brothers, "Please come near to me." So they came near. Then he said: "I am Joseph your brother, whom you sold into Egypt.
5 But now, do not therefore be grieved or angry with yourselves because you sold me here; for God sent me before you to preserve life.
6 For these two years the famine has been in the land, and there are still five years in which there will be neither plowing nor harvesting.
7 And God sent me before you to preserve a posterity for you in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance.
8 So now it was not you who sent me here, but God; and He has made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.

Note: 45:1–8 Stunned by the revelation of who it really was with whom they dealt, the brothers then heard expressed a masterpiece of recognition of and submission to the sovereignty of God, i.e., His providential rule over the affairs of life, both good and bad. See note on 41:43–45.
Note: 41:43–45 Other awards appropriate to promotion were also bestowed upon Joseph, namely official and recognizable transportation (v. 43), an Egyptian name (v. 45), and an Egyptian wife (v. 45). Further, the populace was commanded to show deference for their vizier (v. 43, “bow the knee”). All these dreams had been revealed by God, in a rare display of manifesting truth through pagans, so that Joseph would be established in Egypt as a leader and, thus elevated, could be used for the preservation of God’s people when the famine came to Canaan. Thus, God cared for His people and fulfilled His promises (see note on 45:1–8).

1 Corinthians 10:11 (NKJV)
11 Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the ages have come.

As we observe & live under leadership in this country, as we observe leadership around the world & in world organizations, take heart fellow believer, we have just read ~~~

"a masterpiece of recognition of and submission to the sovereignty of God, i.e., His providential rule over the affairs of life, both good and bad."

Psalm 9:1-2(NKJV)
1To the Chief Musician. To The Tune of "Death of the Son." a Psalm of David.

I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will tell of all Your marvelous works.
2 I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.

Two in Two

Two posts in two days...don't know how long I can keep this up! heh

Psalm Psalm 11:1-7 (NKJV)

1 To the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David.
In the Lord I put my trust;
How can you say to my soul,
"Flee as a bird to your mountain"?
2 For look! The wicked bend their bow,
They make ready their arrow on the string,
That they may shoot secretly at the upright in heart.
3 If the foundations are destroyed,
What can the righteous do?

This is a Psalm written by King David of Israel (c.1037 - 970 BC, his reign over Judah c.1007 - 1000 BC, and over Judah and Israel c.1000 - 970 BC.) (Wikipedia)

The first 3 verses are spoken by the counsellors of King David, who are experiencing a panic attack as they observe the crumbling of society around them.

They say:
Put my trust in the Lord?
Flee?
Look at the wicked!
They are about to attack and destroy us!

Don't we today see our foundations destroyed?
Don't we ask what the righteous can do?

David calmly answers his trembling counsellors...

4 The Lord is in His holy temple,
The Lord’s throne is in heaven;
His eyes behold,
His eyelids test the sons of men.
5 The Lord tests the righteous,
But the wicked and the one who loves violence His soul hates.
6 Upon the wicked He will rain coals;
Fire and brimstone and a burning wind
Shall be the portion of their cup.
7 For the Lord is righteous,
He loves righteousness;
His countenance beholds the upright.

David says:
Hey, God is sovereign, He is in control.
He is omnipetent, He sees everything, He subjects all to His perfect scrutiny, He misses nothing!
His tests His saints (James 1:2-4)
He is angry with the wicked everyday.

In fact...
Psalm 7:11-13 (NKJV)
11 God is a just judge,
And God is angry with the wicked every day.
12 If he does not turn back,
He will sharpen His sword;
He bends His bow and makes it ready.
13 He also prepares for Himself instruments of death;
He makes His arrows into fiery shafts.

God is just, He loves His saints.
He keeps and eye on them and cares for them.

In fact...
Malachi 3:16-17 (NKJV)
16 Then those who feared the Lord spoke to one another,
And the Lord listened and heard them;
So a book of remembrance was written before Him
For those who fear the Lord
And who meditate on His name.
17 "They shall be Mine," says the Lord of hosts,
"On the day that I make them My jewels.
And I will spare them
As a man spares his own son who serves him."

In fact...
Revelation 19:11-16 (NKJV)
11 Now I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse.And He who sat on him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war.12 His eyes were like a flame of fire, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knew except Himself.13 He was clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.14 And the armies in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, followed Him on white horses.15 Now out of His mouth goes a sharp sword, that with it He should strike the nations. And He Himself will rule them with a rod of iron. He Himself treads the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.16 And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.

Oops, Long Time No Post

Sorry, got busy with holidays, family, slop storms, ice, snow & minus 0 temps!

However, I am reading through the Bible using the Daily Bible (Pastor John MacArthur, Grace Community Church). I have just finished doing it for 5 years & am starting out on my 6th year. I just love it!! It is so interesting how the Holy Spirit works in my mind as I read each morning's passages.

I was reading through Genesis 41 & 42 this AM, in particular 41:25-41.

v. 37 So the advice [of Joseph] was good in the eyes of Pharaoh and in the eyes of all his servants. 38 And Pharaoh said to his servants, "Can we find such a one as this, a man in whom is the Spirit God?"
39 Then Pharaoh said to Joseph, "Inasmuch as God has shown you all this, there is no one as discerning and wise as you. 40 You shall be over my house, and all my people shall be ruled according to your word; only in regard to the throne will I be greater than you." 41 And Pharaoh said to Joseph, "See, I have set you over all the land of Egypt."

You would think that this fantistic feat God had worked through Joseph would never be forgotten!

Exodus 1:8 Now there arose a new king over Egypt, who did not know Joseph.

Did not remember the times of that famine and how Joseph led Egypt and many of the lands round about through the years of hardship of that time.
After 400 years, who knew, who cared??

My update of Exodus 1:8:

Now there arose a new leadership over the United States, who did not know the Founding Fathers.

Did not remember the times of the revolution and its principles and how the Founding Fathers led the fledgling nation though the years of hardship and dangers of that time.
After 235 years, who knew, who cared???
